Not only does it have settings to use as a traditional crock pot, you are also able to put it on warm. I / I bought this for our Thanksgiving feast..it worked great I could control each indivitual crock..I was afraid it was going to blow some fuses at our small cabin but it didnt..holds more food than I thought..I just lined each crock
