The stainless steel carafe keeps things piping hot for hours and if I only want one cup the pods are sure convenient all in one unit.. this is my second coffee / This is a quality unit. I make a full pot in the carafe in the morning and use the K cup side later in the day for tea, coffee or hot chocolate. So convenient. Either option makes very hot beverages
