"body": "If you want a fast noninvasive way to take temperatures, this is a good choice. If you think you can get as reliable results of someone's internal temp by measuing a small patch of external skin as you would with an internal probe (or at least inside the ear), you're kidding yourself -- get yourself a rectal thermometer. This thing works (I own a diagnostic IR scanner for other purposes that I can compare results with) -- but where and how you choose to do the measurement affects results. I haven't had a thermometer in decades and this helped me realize why not. You don't need a thermometer to know if someone's temp is normal, slightly elevated, hot, or scorching -- and if you can make those distinctions, the precise number is unimportant. At the same time, I like the simplicity and find it useful. Read the instructions and think about how it actually works for best results Read more",
