I usually spray on and use an old toothbrush to lightly clean in a circular motion. I used this to clean a stain on / I know that different stains require different treatments so when I have a stain I will typically treat it with an enzyme cleaner such as shout and if that doesn't get out I'll do OxiClean or vice versa.
