Does not double fold collapse, which is unfortunate for packability, but probably also means higher durability. I'm usually wearing a backpack, so if I need to pack it away for a few minutes I'll just collapse it, and stick it horizontally behind my back where the bottom straps of the backpack will catch it. Not the most comfortable long term, but for a light pack and a short duration, works fine for me. I chose this size as a compromise between coverage, wind resistance, and weight. Some days a larger one would absolutely be nicer... but it would become unmanageable at wind speeds where this is totally fine... So to each their own. Read more",

I'm section hiking the PCT and started section F (edge of the Mojave Desert) on July 1. It would've been impossible without the shade this umbrella provided. I got lucky with low winds. If it's very windy, it's not really viable. But then the \"wind chill\" helps keep you cooler. I would recommend \"tightening\" velcro straps on at least 3 points of your shoulder straps to secure it. If you can do that, and the winds are not strong, you will absolutely LOVE this parasol!!!
