Yet when he presented his carefully selected swimming costume to his wife, Smith was overwhelmed by her happiness at receiving it and her disappointment at trying it on. That was where that disappointment began to give Smith the idea of producing a swimming costume that would be perfect for all women like his wife to make their own.
