However, our built-in kitchen recycling drawer was way too small. I wanted something decent-looking but durable, compact yet really large. Chose this one over other brands because it looked particularly sturdy and Suncast seems to make high quality products that last. I also was impressed by the attention to detail: tall and slim but not tippy, choice of with or without handles, visually appealing yet unobtrusive detailing on the sides, and the clever indent for your foot and inside “channels” to assist emptying. We are a family of four and this holds all our weekly cans, bottles and small cardboard recycling. We rarely have to empty it more than once per week. We don’t bother with a plastic liner because it seems like a waste of plastic. We periodically hose it out instead. In our last house it fit perfectly between the pantry cabinets and a doorway. We have since moved to a house with an older kitchen. I removed an ancient trash compactor that was next to the sink and discovered this trash can slides perfectly into the space, so it now tucks away conveniently under the countertop. Fantastic!
