For being an inexpensive monitor, this has worked VERY well for us. We’ve had this since my daughter was 2 and she’s now 6, almost 7. Her room is on the other side of the house and she still struggles to stay in her own room all night. This is so helpful so she doesn’t feel totally alone and it gives me peace of mind that she can call for me if she needs me. The sound is clear, it connects easily, I would say the only downside is how lightweight it is, it tends to fall over easy, but that never bothered me. Read more

For the price, you cannot go wrong with this monitor. We bought it to place in the bathroom while our aging mom is showering. If she needs us, we can hear her calling us. The mic is very sensitive. This is a good thing. We can even hear her breathing (and humming sometimes). We can hear when the water is shut off, so we know when she's done and about to come out. The quality of the cases is very good. We've dropped them several times and no issues. We are not so impressed with battery life. We have it on for maybe 30 minutes at a time and we have to charge the receiver after several uses. It's not a deal breaker, but we just have to make sure we charge it frequently. Perhaps another issue related to the battery - there is a light that glows red when charging. However, even after 12 hours of charging the light is still red. I would think it should turn green like nearly all other items you need to charge. Nope, this charging light NEVER glows green! So, how do we know when the receiver is completely charged? We don't! We have left this on constantly for nearly 15 months and it still works perfectly!!! Seriously, almost the only time we've turned it off was when we went on vacation for a week. The rest of the time, it's been on and plugged in 24/7. I'm so impressed. Only complaint is that when you turn it on, it has a very loud warning about not placing it close to your kid. Hence why we never turn it off, lol. It lasts like 3-6 hours not plugged in and I've even taken it across the street. Read more

We take care of our granddaughter at least two days a week, and this upgraded VTech audio baby monitor has become an essential tool for making those days easier. Initially, we chose an audio-only model intentionally—wanting to resist the temptation of continuously checking a video screen—and this VTech model has absolutely exceeded our expectations. First and foremost, the sound quality is exceptional. We can clearly hear every little coo, giggle, or fuss from our granddaughter's nursery without any annoying static or interference. The clarity truly is impressive; it's reminiscent of traditional baby monitors but vastly improved with modern technology. There's never that distracting hiss or hum that you sometimes get with older models. Instead, it's quiet when our granddaughter sleeps and crystal clear when she wakes up or needs us. One feature we've especially appreciated is the rechargeable parent unit. We're not tethered to an outlet; we simply carry it around wherever we are—doing chores, cooking in the kitchen, or even stepping outside briefly—and we've never had an issue with the battery running out during the day. At night or during longer stretches, we just plug it in by the bedside and it's ready again in the morning. The monitor's impressive range is another huge plus. We haven't tested the extreme limits, but it easily reaches anywhere inside our house, into the yard, and even out to the mailbox or garage without losing the connection. Setup was incredibly easy: we just plugged the nursery unit in, turned on both units, and they instantly connected. We also appreciate the visual sound indicator lights on the parent unit. Sometimes, if we're watching TV or busy with tasks, we keep the monitor volume on low. The lights visually alert us to any sounds coming from our granddaughter’s room, ensuring we never miss a moment when she needs attention. After several months of use, it has consistently delivered. However, every time the parent unit reconnects to the base unit (which is every time the base unit is unplugged) a voice loudly announces a safety message. Not good for sleeping babies if you and the parent unit part are still in the baby's room when you turn it on. Also, the battery life on the parent unit is very poor. Read more

The mic is very sensitive. This is a good thing. We can even hear her breathing (and humming sometimes). We can hear when the water is shut off, so we know when she's done and about to come out. The quality of the cases is very good. We've dropped them several times and no issues. We are not so impressed with battery life. We have it on for maybe 30 minutes at a time and we have to charge the receiver after several uses. It's not a deal breaker, but we just have to make sure we charge it frequently. Perhaps another issue related to the battery - there is a light that glows red when charging. However, even after 12 hours of charging the light is still red. I would think it should turn green like nearly all other items you need to charge. Nope, this charging light NEVER glows green! So, how do we know when the receiver is completely charged? We don't! First and foremost, the sound quality is exceptional. We can clearly hear every little coo, giggle, or fuss from our granddaughter's nursery without any annoying static or interference. The clarity truly is impressive; it's reminiscent of traditional baby monitors but vastly improved with modern technology. There's never that distracting hiss or hum that you sometimes get with older models. Instead, it's quiet when our granddaughter sleeps and crystal clear when she wakes up or needs us. One feature we've especially appreciated is the rechargeable parent unit. We're not tethered to an outlet; we simply carry it around wherever we are—doing chores, cooking in the kitchen, or even stepping outside briefly—and we've never had an issue with the battery running out during the day. At night or during longer stretches, we just plug it in by the bedside and it's ready again in the morning. The monitor's impressive range is another huge plus. We haven't tested the extreme limits, but it easily reaches anywhere inside our house, into the yard, and even out to the mailbox or garage without losing the connection. Setup was incredibly easy: we just plugged the nursery unit in, turned on both units, and they instantly connected. We also appreciate the visual sound indicator lights on the parent unit. Sometimes, if we're watching TV or busy with tasks, we keep the monitor volume on low. Other product features people love A set of five LED lights on the parent unit indicates the level of sound in your baby's room so you can visually monitor noise level with the receiver muted. The speaker volume on the parent unit is easily controlled by pressing the up or down arrow keys. When the parent unit is in mute, the visual sound indicator will still indicate the sound detected from the baby unit. The parent unit emits different alert tones for situations needed your attention. Low battery tone: Beeps twice every 10 minutes when the battery is low. Out of range tone: Beeps three times every 30 seconds when there is no link between the baby unit and parent unit, or when the parent unit is out of range from the baby unit. Lights on steadily in green when the parent unit is on and linked to the baby unit. Flashes in green when there is no link between the baby unit and parent unit, or when the parent unit is out of range from the baby unit."
